Summary
Shu Jin has won the annual lottery prize offered by his company: a stay for two at a luxury hotel. For lack of a better choice, he decides to go with a colleague, but there he unexpectedly meets his ex-boyfriend Sheng XingHe in the elevator.
Review
The plot is centered around why the characters broke up 5 years earlier, and how they overcome past issues. The narration goes back and forth between the present and some flashbacks. It was fine to follow and the overall pace felt ok: no unnecessary dragging and no rush. The relationship was equal/fine, both characters wanted to care about the other. It's not blood-related brothers for the general trope, more or less. I quite enjoyed some descriptions of the main character's emotions and feelings about his ex. If I had one small complaint, it's that some explanations came a bit late, which made his reactions feel a bit excessive for some part of the book.
The vocabulary didn't feel too overwhelming, and I didn't spot too many repetitions in the way it was written.
